Would you sell your home for your child's dream? That's exactly what one mother did when she put her faith and future in the hands of her son, Euihyun, Kim. At just 29 years old and with only three years of industry experience, Euihyun had a bold vision to start a family business.

In a modest 3,000-square-foot greenhouse on the outskirts of the city, Euihyun began growing strawberries. But like many young entrepreneurs, he struggled with financing. That's when his mother made a life-changing decision: She sold her house to invest in her son's dream. The stakes couldn't have been higher.

Her gamble paid off. Within a few months, the greenhouse sold out of all of its premium produce. Today, this seemingly small operation produces over 15,000 kilograms of high-quality strawberries annually. More than just a farm, it has become an educational destination where children learn about the origins of food and the innovations that shape modern horticulture.

Technology meets vision

Central to Euihyun 's success has been his partnership with Priva. Using Priva's Nutrifit system, wireless sensors and Compact CC climate control, Euihyun has maximized the efficiency of his greenhouse.

"In our community, Priva is the definition of climate control and running a modern greenhouse, this gave us the confidence to it and it's running great”.

A visit from Priva's Leadership

Euihyun’s dedication caught the attention of Meiny Prins, Chairman of the Priva Group. One day, while Euihyun was working in the greenhouse, she paid a surprise visit. Seeing Priva's name on the welcome banner, Meiny shared how proud she was to see young entrepreneurs using their technology to innovate and grow.

Inspiring a new generation of farmers

Beyond growing strawberries, Euihyun 's greenhouse serves as an inspiration and a call to action. As the average age of farmers rises and succession planning is limited, horticulture needs bold young leaders like Euihyun. His success is a testament to the power of innovation, education, and the unwavering support of those who believe in a brighter future.

Euihyun explains: "Producing food closer to where people live and eat gives us all a better chance at a sustainable food system.”
